Spotify Apps is the latest addition to the Spotify Platform family. For the past few months, we’ve been busy developing a new, innovative way to allow partners and developers to integrate into our desktop client.

Spotify Apps use HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, which makes it easy for you to integrate and produce an app quickly.
So how do I start?

You can get all the tools and documentation you need from the Resources page.

You’ll also need a Spotify Developer Account. Please fill out the Developer Signup form to get your account enabled for app development.
Currently, this process is handled manually, so it might take 1-3 days to get developer status.

This will give you the chance to play around with our new platform, and get an idea of what will be involved in developing your app for Spotify Apps.
I want to distribute my app.

We’re currently only allowing a limited amount of partners to join our program and be able to distribute the app on the Spotify Apps platform. Please make sure you complete the App Concept Submission form before you start developing an app for production purposes.
