It doesn't work on IOS 8

  • mukymowse Buyer 2014-11-28 12:26:09 Thread #51264

Hi. Just purchased the code and am having a little difficulty uploading photos. I'm getting the same error mentioned in the comments below (invalid acl key). I have inserted the parse objectId for the first key and userobjectId for the second key (in the correct locations of the snapifyParseAdmin.plist). I've also put my facebook appid in the 2 appropriate locations.

I have worked with the anypic original source code and got a version of that running, however that code did not implement the parseadmin.plist as far as I can tell (any particular reason the Snapify code requires this?). Also I stored the ParseAdmin.plist in dropbox and pasted a link to that plist in the AppDelegate.m (where it asks for the url for my server).

Everything else works fine, just that I can't get the app to upload photos. Hope you can help. Thank you very much.

      Hi Christopher, any idea?

    • christopher.coudriet Author 2014-11-28 16:36:35

Hi, mukymowse, Thanks for your purchase! The parseadmin.plist is a convenient way for you to update admin credentials without having to submit a new app update. The parseadmin.plist essentially gives you admin rights to delete any users photo that you deem inappropriate. The parseadmin.plist is not a requirement but will help you manage the app content from right inside the app and not have to go to your parse account to delete a users photo.  Not sure Dropbox will work as your server. Are you able to see the admin credentials in NSLog?

      Thanks Chris :)

Thanks a lot Chris! That makes perfect sense. And you were right, using Dropbox as a server was the issue. It's working now. Thank you for the quick reply!

Hi this looks great, can you just confirm what extra functionality this template comes with that Anypic doesnt? Thanks!

  • Trakov 2014-11-24 09:43:06 Thread #50543

Does the source code come with instructions on how to set up the correct Code Signing and Provisioning Profiles for submission to the App Store? Always have difficulty getting this right. Cheers mate!

    • Trakov 2014-11-26 00:24:13

Apologies, I might not have been clear with the question. Does the snapify code come with instructions on how to set the Code Signing options (found in the Build Settings section of xcode) in anticipation of submission to the app store? As i understand it these will depend on the type of Provisioning Profile that is chosen (developer vs production). I tend to have difficulty setting this up in apps that I submit to the app store. I know Parse has very detailed instructions on setting this up but they seem to be for setting developer provisioning profiles and not production. Cheers.

Sorry, there are no instructions for code signing. There are numerous resources available online and should not be difficult.

Hello, just wondering if this app supports local notifications. By that I mean, for example, if a user "likes" a photo, or "comments" on a photo of another user, will that other user recieve a push notification if they're app is in backgrounded saying that "X has liked your photo" etc. And will that user also recieve the red notification badges on the tab bar next to the activity button (like in Instagram)? Thank you! I look forward to purchasing your code if it indeed is able to do this. Regards.

    • christopher.coudriet Author 2014-11-23 15:43:16

Yes, the app supports push notifications for liked photos and comments.

      • mukymowse Buyer 2014-11-23 22:07:23

Thankyou, thats great! One last question, is the app code as it currently stands (if i were to purchase now) ready for uploading to the app store? As in it would it get approved by the app store without any changes? Sorry for all the questions, just want to make sure before i purchase. Thanks!

        • christopher.coudriet Author 2014-11-24 05:01:07

No problem, You should and is highly recommended you re skin the app before submitting to the App Store.

          • mukymowse Buyer 2014-11-24 05:03:35

Will do! Thank you very much for the information!

  • Is there any way to sort stuff ??  For example:

Can I see images with Most Likes first??

Can I see images with Most Comments??

Can I see images that have comments with the word "Boob" or whatever??

If there are no TAGS, you need to be able to search Comment Text...

Isn't that normal functionality for any Social App??  Just sayin'

      Bueller...Bueller...Bueller ??

In case you are too young for the reference:

    • Steve Cannon Buyer 2014-11-25 07:07:49

I see how it is...once you have "Buyer" next to your name, you are just ignored and time needs to be spent answering questions of potential Buyers. I guess that makes perfect sense

    • Chupa Team 2014-11-25 12:38:04

Hi Steve, we have contacted the seller via email. You should receive a reply soon.

    • christopher.coudriet Author 2014-11-25 16:36:21

Currently no,  there is no sorting besides the default which is by most recent photo. That said you can certainly change the code to sort the list anyway you would like. This would also be the case for adding TAGS searching.

    • Steve Cannon Buyer 2014-11-25 21:55:27

      Okay...thanks for the info / response :)

I just want to know 100% sure if this is working on iOS 8 if not I will work on the Github version myself
